About

Camille Vizena is a Southwest Louisiana artist, working in a variety of mediums including printmaking, mixed media, and paper arts. Their work stems from a place of examination, how emotions permeate through the body, what influences begotten from childhood affect our perceptions, and how this creates tension and contradiction within the social experience of the self.
They were selected for the 2023 cohort of Residency at the Museum through the Imperial Calcasieu Museum. Working in a studio in their hometown of Lake Charles, they created a series of multi-layer woodcut portraits depicting members of their local community.
